Sharing on the Panama Trip 2010 – Anthony Chow
Thank God, brothers and sisters for your support and prayers that I had the opportunity to complete this short-term mission. I felt blessed that the whole trip was relatively uneventful. Actually, it was so smooth that I felt very safe and our food was so well taken care of that no one had any stomach issues. There are a lot of things that I felt blessed in this trip:
- God must be with us all the time;
- Our team leader looked after us well;
- Good team work within the group;
- The young people were very enthusiastic;
- The young people were very well trained and they knew what they were doing;
- The local people were very supportive; and
- The local church management was very helpful.
At the beginning of the trip I thought the locals were not as enthusiastic and there might not be many kids in our gathering. But to our surprise, a lot of kids showed up. They were so eager to learn things or participate in our activities. They had a very good time.
Most of the Chinese people who live there spend too much time in making money. They want to make a lot of money in a short time so that they can get ahead of the others in this materialistic world. However, they either forget or do not know the real meaning in life, or they do not realize that after this materialistic life there is also an eternal life for which they need to accumulate wealth. It is in the eternal world that we will all be peaceful, happy and be with God. It is their choice and I hope we had helped them go down the path of making this good choice. I was honored that I was able to join a group of dedicated Christians to serve God and to see God’s spirit at work in this trip.
May God bless all of you.
